HARD-SHELL VS SMART ARMOUR
The difference is in how impact energy is managed.
Traditional hard-shell protection and flexible energy-absorbing armour manage impact forces differently.
Rigid shells can help spread a concentrated impact over a wider area, while advanced energy-absorbing materials are engineered to deform under impact and help reduce the force transmitted through the protector.
Impact performance depends on the material, construction, impact conditions and tested application.
